New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari, a senior BJP leader and Union Minister, said on Saturday that development works will be carried out without the influence any kind of politics, whether in Maharashtra or India. The Union transport minister said he considers himself an "ambassador of Maharashtra" and believes the state should come out on top in the country while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of two National Highway projects in Sangli.

"In the last seven years of my tenure, I had the opportunity to oversee development works in Maharashtra worth Rs 5 lakh crore." I served as a minister in the ports, shipping, water resources, MSME, and road transport sectors, but I have always considered myself a Maharashtra ambassador and believe that the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj should develop and flourish," Gadkari added.

Maharashtra, he believes, should be the first state to emerge as the best. The minister went on to say that development work will be carried out without any political interference, and that the demands made to him will be met. "We are proceeding with the perspective that development activities, be they of anyone, if they are relevant to the development of Maharashtra or the country, will be carried out without bringing in any politics," Gadkari said.
