Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is expanding the cabinet on Sunday. Senior RPI leader Avinash Mahatekar to be sworn in as Minister. Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray late Friday night.

According to sources, the two discussed the proposed cabinet expansion in the state. Fadnavis and Finance Minister Sudhir Mungtiwar have said a few days ago that the cabinet will be expanded. Fadnavis tweeted, "I discussed with Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray his residence Matosree on the Cabinet expansion.

Earlier, on a question on cabinet expansion, Thackeray said, "I don't know when the cabinet expansion will take place."
