Dewas: In order to resolve long pending cases pertaining to property tax, water tax and other taxes, the National Lok Adalat By the Madhya Pradesh Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) will be held on December 12,  informed Dewas municipal corporation commissioner Vishal Singh Chauhan.

He said that the taxpayers will get relief on the surcharge amount in Lok Adalat. In property tax, due amount under Rs 50,000 will be given 100 percent rebate on surcharge. Similarly, the outstanding amount of more than Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh will be given 50 percent rebate and amounts of more than Rs 1 lakh will be given 25 percent rebate on surcharge. In the same way, the due amount of water tax upto Rs 10,000 will be given 100 percent discount on surcharge.

The outstanding amount upto Rs 50,000 will be given 75 percent rebate and due amounts of more than Rs 50,000 will be given 50 percent discount on surcharge. The rental shops under the ownership of Municipal Corporation are exempted from 100 percent surcharge on due amounts upto Rs 20,000. If the arrears range between Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000, then 75 percent rebate would be given, and for amounts above Rs 50,000 a 25 percent discount will be given.
