The makers of Surya's Soorai Potterru announced that the film would be released directly on OTT platforms, it was speculated that Dhanush's upcoming film Jagme Thandhiram would also be released on OTT platform. However, a report surfaced which states that the producers have no such plans and will wait for theatres to reopen.
The film's producer Shashikant took to his Twitter and hinted that he would wait for the film to be released in theatres. He wrote on his Twitter "#Jagamethendiram Jagam is still healing & not back to normal ???? Until then, be patient for the theatres to open & don’t believe in rumours ???? The entire team is waiting to see @dhanushkraja go #rakitarakita on a big screen soon Just #chillbro ????"
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film stars Dhanush as the lead actor. After the announcement of Sorai Potru on the OTR platform, it was reported that two more big movies of Kollywood are ready for direct release on the digital platform. Fans started guessing that Thalapaty Vijay's Master and Dhanush's Jagme Thaandhiram are two films which can be released on OTT platforms. While the producers of Master confirmed that the film will only release in the theatres, now the makers of Jagme Thandhiram have also announced it. Directed by Sudha K Prasad, Soorarai Pottru will be released on October 30 in Amazon Prime.
