Adar Poonawala, CEO of vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India, has now become a partner of movie producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions company. It is reported that he has bought a 50 percent stake in Dharma Productions. Poonawala also made this deal for Rs 1000 crore.

Becomes 50 percent shareholder: Reports say that under this agreement, the valuation of movie and television production and distribution company Dharma Productions has been done at around Rs 2000 crore. Reports also say that Adar is making this investment in his personal capacity. He has become a 50 percent shareholder of Dharma Productions.

Karan Johar will own 50%: According to media reports, Adar Poonawala has left behind Reliance and Saregama in the race to acquire a major stake in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Poonawala has acquired 50% stake in Dharma; the remaining 50% will be owned by Karan Johar.

What did Karan Johar say on the deal? Commenting on this deal, Karan Johar said that 'Since the beginning, Dharma Productions has been synonymous with heartwarming storytelling that reflects the essence of Indian culture. My father dreamed of making movies that leave a lasting impact, and I have dedicated my career to expanding that vision. Today, when we are working together with Adar, we are ready to take the legacy of Dharma to new heights'.
