After the 44th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, Dholavira, Harappan city of Gujarat, has been included in the UNESCO world heritage list. With this, another city in India has been included in the UNESCO world heritage list. The announcement was made by UNESCO on Tuesday. Gujarat had three World Heritage Sites till then. Champaner near Pavagarh, Rani's Vav in Patan and Ahmedabad. Now, after Dholavira has been included in the UNESCOÂ world heritage list, Gujarat has become 4 World Heritage Sites.

Expressing happiness, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism G Kishan Reddy said, "Dholavira, Harappa city in Rann, Kutch, Gujarat has been given world heritage status by UNESCO." It is like another feather in India's cap as 40 sites of India have now been included in the UNESCO world heritage list. Since 2014, 10 new World Heritage Sites of India have been added to the list.
In fact, the World Heritage Committee is made up of representatives from 21 states. This committee explains which city will be included in the World Heritage. So far, sides of 167 countries have been listed in the World Heritage List. Earlier in May, two tourist spots of MP were included in the world heritage list. The Union Ministry of Culture, had sent the names of nine tourist destinations for inclusion in the possible list of UNESCO World Heritage, out of which six locations have been included in the probable list. These include The Bheraghat-Lamhetaghat and Satpura Tiger Reserve on the Narmada Valley.
