Kolkata: The BJP has now reacted to the politics being done by the opposition over the train accident in Odisha. West Bengal BJP leader and MLA Suvendu Adhikari has hit back at Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee. Suvendu has asked whether Mamata Banerjee resigned from the post of Union Railway Minister when the Dnyaneshwari train accident took place in 2010 and around 150 people lost their lives.

Suvendu Adhikari tweeted and wrote that what else can be expected from a less educated person. He joined politics only because his aunt (CM Mamata) is the owner of this family business. "You (Abhishek Banerjee) could not even wait for 48 hours before joining petty politics. Ashwini Vaishnaw is an IITian and a former IAS officer of the 1994 batch. Ashwini Vaishnaw is the most suitable person to handle the situation in this hour of crisis. The accident is unfortunate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has assured the country that the culprits will not be spared."

"I would like to remind you that the CBI had filed a charge sheet against the accused behind that tragedy (Dnyaneshwari train tragedy). Chhatradhar Mahato was the leader of your party TMC and after coming out of jail in 2020, your aunt (Mamata) gave him a place in the party's state committee again."
