Bhopal: Congress veteran leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh have also reacted to the passage of three divorce bills from both houses of Parliament on behalf of the Modi government. Describing the need for inclusion of some amendments to the bill, he said pm Modi would have succeeded in winning the confidence of Muslims if these provisions were included.

Digvijay Singh tweeted on Wednesday, "If the Modi government is to send my jail term to the accused, instead of sending me to jail, a fine of at least Rs 1 lakh and a fine of Rs 10,000/- - If the wife accepted the amendment of the allowance every month, the whole controversy would have ended. According to Modiji's intention, he would also get the trust of the Muslims who he wants. In addition, Digvijay Singh has also shared a video of his speaking during a discussion on triple talaq in the Upper House in 2018.

The Modi government managed to pass three divorce bills even after the upper house did not have a majority. The bill had 99 votes in favour, while only 84 voted against it. Earlier, the opposition had proposed to send the bill to the selection committee, but the opposition was able to garner only 84 votes in favour of the proposal, while 100 votes were cast against it. The BJP managed to pass the crucial bill even after the protests on the strength of the opposition.
