New Delhi: The Modi Cabinet met on Wednesday to take a series of decisions. The Union Cabinet has also allowed economic reservation for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Government has brought a bill which has been given a green signal. With this approval, the economically weaker upper caste community in the Valley has paved the way for 10 % reservation in educational institutions and government jobs.

Besides, some important decisions have been taken in the Cabinet for farmers, ISRO decisions have been taken and chit-fund bills have also been approved. Some of the key decisions of the Modi Cabinet meeting held on 31.7.2019:-
- Approval of 10% reservation in J&K reservation bill on an economic basis.
- It has been decided to increase the fertilizer subsidy that farmers received in terms of nutrition. A subsidy of Rs 22875 crore will be provided to farmers, which will be borne by the government.

- The chit-fund bill, which has been approved, will be introduced to regulate it. The bill was introduced in Parliament earlier, but the Lok Sabha session has now been reintroduced.
- A Memorandum of Understanding between ISRO and the Bolivian Space Agency on cooperation in the research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes has been approved by the Modi Cabinet.
- The Union Cabinet has decided to increase the number of Supreme Court judges. The number of judges in the top court has now been reduced to 33. in which the Chief Justice will be different.
