Bhopal: Congress veteran and former CM Digvijay Singh has demanded the appointment of KN Govindacharj, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) campaigner, as the Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog. Digvijay Singh lashed out at PM Narendra Modi and said that you have to give respect to the Swadeshi movement of the Sangh.

Digvijay Singh tweeted with his Twitter handle, writing that, 'If Modi ji wants to be "vocal" to make India "dependent" to make India self-reliant, the Swadeshi movement of the Sangh will have to be respected and for that The most suitable person is Govindacharya. Make him Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog. Digvijay Singh wrote in another tweet that 'Modi ji you will never like Govindacharya ji because you never like a person worthy around you. He is more qualified than you and has been senior in the Sangh.

Digvijay Singh said that Govindacharya has been a supporter of the Sangh due to its emphasis on Swadeshi. Govindacharya has done a lot of work in this direction, but in this era he has been separated. Digvijay Singh said that if indeed the local has to be vocal, then Govindacharj should be brought to the NITI Aayog, which plays an important role in deciding the policies of the country, but the Central Government will not do so. In reality, the ideology of Swadeshi and self-reliance is the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. Congress veteran Digvijay Singh further said that those talking about local should read the books of Hind Swaraj.
