In Bollywood, many Punjabi stars are trying their luck these days and one of them is Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh. While Bollywood's action style was prominent from the seventies to the early 2000s, its efforts to find a stable market continue to be there. Diljit Dosanjh was born on January 6, 1984, in a Sikh family in Dosanjh Kalan village in Phillore Tehsil, Jalandhar district, Punjab, India. His father, Balbir Singh, is a former employee of Punjab Roadways, and his mother, Sukhvinder Kaur, is a homemaker. He has two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother.

He spent his early childhood in Dosanjh Kalan and then moved to Ludhiana, Punjab, where he completed his formal education, including a high school diploma from Sri Guru Harkishan Public School and while in school, he attended local Gurudwaras.
