After getting many complaints, The Dimapur Naga Students Union has asked the banks to maintain and provide quality ATM service in the city. The union made a survey of the ATM booths in and around Dimapur following complaints from several quarters. The union hoped that the banks to take this appeal with utmost importance.

In the survey, the Union found that majority of booths were found to be either out of service or out of cash while in the ATMs where there is the availability of cash, a queue of more than 20-30 persons is seen at a time. The students’ union said random queues outside the functional ATM booths without maintaining social distancing protocol is a violation of SOP laid down by the government. The Union said that It pointed out that most of the booths of the banks concerned do not meet the requirements of SOP.

The students’ union said the students are at the receiving end since the academic admissions have started. Noting that ATM service charges are being levied on the customers, the union said it is the responsibility of the banks to provide quality service to their customers.
