The new rule of Modi government has come out recently. Let us tell you that in this rule, it has been said that the elderly and disabled people above the age of 80 can now vote through postal ballot. Yes, recently the Central Government has taken this decision and candidates of this category can vote as per their wish at the polling booth. Both options are going to exist for them. On the recommendations of the Election Commission, the Union Law and Justice Ministry amended the Election Rules, 1961, under which the disabled and senior citizens have been allowed to be included in the absentee voter list.

Let's know the meaning of absentee voter - It means that the voter is unable to reach the polling station to cast votes. According to the revised rule that came out, "the person will apply in a new Form 12D, which will reach the returning officer within 5 days after the date of notification of election." After receiving this application, a postal ballot paper will be issued to the elector (voting person). The postal ballot will be deposited in the Specified Center after recording the vote.

The commission says that its purpose is to ensure the participation of older people or differently-abled persons in the voting as well. Are unable, due to which they are unable to cast their vote. Now with the new rule people of both these categories will be able to vote and this will also increase the voting percentage.
