Dishani Chakraborty, daughter of Mithun Chakraborty, is honing her acting abilities in preparation for her upcoming debut in Hollywood.
The aspiring actress and LA-based starlet attended prestigious acting programmes in the USA and India. She began her acting career with The Jeff Goldberg Studio in Mumbai before moving to Los Angeles to study acting and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, where she also scored two commercial roles.
Dishani said, "It hasn't been an easy trip choosing the alternative path of starting my career in LA. But the pleasure of it keeps me going because I have such a strong passion and desire for the tales I want to tell and the characters I want to play. My father has taught me so much as I've grown up, and I want to express that in my art.
Dishani went on to play the leading lady in the drama short film The Guest after graduating from Strasberg.
Despite coming from a long history of legendary filmmakers, Chakraborty nevertheless went against the grain and chose to get into the entertainment industry in Hollywood. She also completed the demanding Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute's 2-year full-time Associates Program, where she received training in Method Acting, Improv, Scene Study, Audition Techniques, Script Writing, Voice, and Movement. She performed in a play at the end of her first year that featured notable attendees like Al Pacino! She has received high accolades from all of her teachers, who have all worked in prominent Hollywood roles, who have praised her talent and work ethic.
The teenage diva and fashionista has a huge following on social media, with close to 100K followers on Instagram.
