LOS ANGELES: The legendary actress Melissa McCarthy botched a sexual conversation with her daughter while scooping up dog poop.

The 52-year-old actress said she tried the subject the day before her 15-year-old daughter Vivian's school addressed it in health class and that she hopes to do "better" the next time she tackles it.

McCarthy admitted on the "We Can Do Hard Things" podcast that she "did (it) really awkwardly" while saying that she didn't want to allow "someone else initiates the conversation with my child." The actress, who has a daughter named Georgette with her husband Ben Falcone, also jokingly remarked that it would be a "very beautiful time" to converse to Vivian while stooping to pick up dog poop.

Added her: "Vivi just exclaims, "Oh my God, is this really happening?" And I said, "There are several body parts... uh... Let me be awkward and get through it, was all I could think. Inside of me, there is still a former Catholic from the Midwest who believes that "talk about sex and a lightning bolt comes down."" McCarthy emphasised that she and her husband have had better conversations with their daughters about dating, advising them to choose men who are "very kind and polite" and only "raise" them up.

Added her: "When you achieve, they must be extremely thrilled for you, and when you fail, they must be incredibly supportive. And the biggest cautionary sign imaginable would be if those were ever swapped. Nothing should be uncomfortable for you." McCarthy, who wed Ben, 49, in 2005, gave birth to Vivian and Georgette in 2010 respectively. On his 49th birthday, she said the following to her Instagram followers about Ben: "Move aside, he's mine! The most wonderful freak I know turns 49 today. I cherish you."
