The Darang district administration has immediately closed the educational institution. 22 students of both first and second year higher secondary classes were tested Covid-19 positive. On Saturday, a Covid testing drive was conducted on around 165 persons including students, teachers and other staff members of the institute. The district administration has ordered the closure of the educational institution for at least seven days.

Notably, another student was tested Covid-19 positive in a different college during a similar Covid testing drive. The educational institutions were allowed to open after the state recently relaxed covid-19 restrictions largely due to the improvement in the covid-19 situation. On the other hand, Kamrup (M) district administration has declared Kamakhya Vidyalaya High School in Guwahati as Micro Containment Zone for the next seven days.

To take measures against the spread of coronavirus among staff and students, the school will remain closed from October 28 to November 4. On Thursday, most of the teachers of the school were compulsorily required to undergo the COVID-19 test as per Kamrup's directive. (m) District Administration.
