Diwali, also known as Deepavali, holds immense significance in Hinduism and is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy throughout India. It is a festival that symbolizes light, happiness, and good wishes. The night of Diwali is especially dedicated to the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. It is believed that by performing sincere and ritualistic prayers, one can attract the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, and Lord Ganesha, the god of intellect. This is said to bring prosperity and auspiciousness throughout the year.

Diwali 2023 Puja Muhurat:
The auspicious time for Diwali puja on November 12th is from 5:40 PM to 7:36 PM. The Mahanishita Kaal Muhurat for Lakshmi Puja is from 11:39 PM to 12:31 AM. Performing Lakshmi Puja during this time is believed to bring immense wealth and prosperity.

Diwali Puja Items List:
Idols of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Saraswati, and Lord Kubera.
Rice, red flowers, lotus flowers, garlands, sindoor, kumkum, and sandalwood.
Betel leaves and betel nuts, saffron, fruits, kamalgatta, yellow threads, puffed rice, sweets, and modak.
Honey, perfume, Ganga water, milk, curd, oil, pure ghee, kalava, panch pallav, and seven grains.
Kalash, brass lamp, clay lamp, cotton wick, coconut, gold or silver coins with images of Lakshmi and Ganesha, coriander seeds.
Red or yellow cloth for an auspicious seat, wooden stool, mango leaves.

Diwali Puja Procedure:
Begin by cleaning the puja area and placing a red or yellow cloth on a wooden stool.
Spread a handful of grains in the center and place the kalash with water, betel leaves, betel nuts, coins, and rice.
Surround the kalash with five mango leaves in a circular pattern.
Place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on the betel leaves, ensuring Lakshmi is on the right.
Arrange a small mountain of rice grains on a plate, make a turmeric lotus, add some coins, and place it in front of the idols.
Light a lamp, apply tilak to the deities, and offer flowers.
