Serbia tennis star Novak Djokovic is the world's number one male tennis player today, having won 17 Grand Slams. However, 10 years ago, such an opportunity came when he was about to retire only after his short career. This was the time when Djokovic was failing to win the Grand Slam big title and he was shattered by the defeat at the French Open. Djokovic has achieved the most success in the last decade and a half after Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Apart from these three players, only Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka could achieve some success in the men's category.

Djokovic cried a lot after the loss: However, Djokovic was about to retire from the game even before he achieved this point of success. Talking to Sky Sports, Djokovic referred to the 2010 French Open match, where he was eliminated after losing to Jürgen Melzer of Austria. Djokovic said, "It was emotionally difficult for me to lose in the quarter-final against Jurgen Melzer in Rolland Garrow." Djokovic said that he wanted to quit playing after that. He said, "I cried a lot after that defeat because it was such an occasion in my life when everything happened together and I didn't see any reason to play further and I wanted to quit tennis."

Career changed after defeat: However, Djokovic said that this defeat completely changed him and he started feeling free. He said that due to all this pressure, he started feeling tired to play and he was not enjoying the game. Djokovic won his first Grand Slam in 2008 as the Australian Open. Although after this he could not win any Grand Slam for the next 2 years, but after that, he won the most titles in the next decade. In 2011 Djokovic won 3 of the 4 Grand Slams of the year. Djokovic has won 16 of his 17 Grand Slam titles since 2011. He won the Australian Open title 8 times at most. Djokovic is at number three after Federer's highest number of 20 and Nadal's 19 title.
