So far, 12 editions of IPL have been completed. Numerous records have been set by all the players in all these editions, but the record for the highest runs in IPL history so far is the name of Team India and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli, popularly known as Run Machine, has played 177 matches in IPL history so far, in which he has scored 5412 runs with the help of 5 centuries and 36 half-centuries. He is followed by Suresh Raina, who has scored 5368 runs in 193 matches, though he has just one century on his account, but has scored 38 half-centuries.
