DMK leader A Raja is in the news for his remarks on Hindu society. In fact, in his statement, he had said that a Shudra person remains a Shudra till he remains a Hindu. Not only this but apart from this, A Raja has also accused BJP of spreading hatred against a community. Now amidst all this, the Tamil Nadu unit of BJP has filed a complaint against A Raja for this statement. In fact, on Tuesday 13 September, A Raja had said in his statement- 'As long as you are a Hindu, you will remain a Shudra. As long as there is a Shudra, you will be the son of a prostitute. As long as you are a Hindu, you will remain a Dalit. As long as you are a Hindu, you will remain untouchable.'

During that time he had also said- 'How many of you want to live as children of prostitutes? How many of you want to remain untouchable? Sanatan can be broken only if we ask such questions.' With this, he had said- 'The Supreme Court had ruled that if a person is not a Christian, Muslim or Persian, then he should be a Hindu. Is there any other country which is facing such cruelty?' However, there was a strong reaction from the BJP to this statement of A Raja. Yes, BJP has strongly criticized the DMK leader. Several party leaders targeted Raja.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai tweeted, "Unfortunate state of political discourse in Tamil Nadu. A Raja has once again spread hatred against one community with the aim of appeasing others. Very unfortunate is the mentality of these political leaders who think that they are the masters of Tamil Nadu.'' With this, BJP's Mahila Morcha national president Vanathi Srinivasan said- ''A Raja has insulted women and Hindus on many occasions. This time also he spits venom and said that all Shudras are children of prostitutes and they will remain so as long as they stay in Hinduism.''

However, amidst the criticism regarding his statement, A Raja made another tweet and wrote – 'Who are Shudras? Aren't they Hindus? Why are they insulted in Manusmriti? Why have they been denied equality, education, employment and temple entry? The Dravidian movement, as the liberator of 90 per cent of Hindus, raised these questions and worked to solve them. He cannot be anti-Hindu.
