Islamabad: A Pakistani doctor who assisted the US in killing terrorist Osama bin Laden is currently in jail. Now Shakeel Afridi has sat on a hunger strike against the Imran government of Pakistan in jail. Afridi's fake vaccination program helped America kill Laden in 2011. Afridi's brother Jamil Afridi arrived in Central Punjab province jail to visit his brother. After meeting, he told that Shakeel has been protesting against injustice and inhuman attitude with his family.

Afridi's lawyer Qamar Nadeem has also confirmed his hunger strike. Many US lawmakers say Afridi assisted the US in killing Laden. Afridi was jailed for 33 years in May 2012 by Pakistan after being convicted of belonging to terrorists. He has always dismissed this charge. The sentence was later commuted to 10 years.

Afridi was not allowed to meet his lawyer even for many years. His family also complained about being targeted and harassed by the authorities for years. In his election speeches, US President Donald Trump also talked about getting Afridi released. However, Trump won no statement after winning the election.
