In the midst of the lockdown and corona crisis, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has written to Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan about housing facilities for doctors being sent for home quarantine. The letter states that this will be an important precautionary measure to control the spread of the virus. In a letter to the Health Minister, the association said that recently there have been reports of resident doctors of various hospitals who have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, his primary contacts, mostly his colleagues and resident doctors, have been advised to stay on home quarantine, the association said.

For your information, let us tell you that some resident doctors live in the hostels allotted in the hospital premises while many live in their homes at various places. Many of them are worried about this house quarantine as most are living with their families.

In his statement, he said that along with the old family members at home, there are also small children who can come in the grip of this disease. Doctors themselves can be a source of infection for their family members. Therefore, it is necessary to provide different habitats until they test negative for the virus. Also, the association said that the medical fraternity stands together in this national response to the coronavirus epidemic, with doctors and other medical staff putting in their best efforts to prevent the epidemic. It also said that we appreciate the efforts of the Government of India in providing accommodation and other facilities for doctors on coronavirus duties.
