Doctors Day 2023: On the occasion of Doctors' Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extends his deepest gratitude to the entire doctor community, recognizing their exceptional courage, selflessness, and resilience in the face of unparalleled challenges.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi expresses, "As we celebrate Doctors' Day, I convey my heartfelt appreciation to the entire doctor community. Even during the most extraordinary times, doctors have showcased unparalleled courage, selflessness, and resilience." He further acknowledges that the commitment of doctors extends beyond healing, offering hope and strength to society.

Every year on July 1, the nation comes together to celebrate National Doctors' Day, a day dedicated to honoring and appreciating healthcare professionals and medical practitioners for their altruistic contributions to society. It serves as a reminder of the immense significance doctors hold in our lives, inspiring us to commemorate and respect their invaluable service.

This special day is observed in memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, an esteemed physician, academician, freedom fighter, and politician. Dr. Roy, who served as the first Chief Minister of West Bengal after India gained independence, was bestowed with the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1961.
