Doctors across the country to go for strike today to protest against the killing of doctors in West Bengal

Kolkata: Doctors will go on strike across the country again on Monday to protest against the killing of doctors in West Bengal. The Indian Medical Association has called for a strike from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday, demanding the introduction of the Central Medical Safety Act on Sunday.

According to sources, more than 3 lakh doctors across the country will join the strike under the banner of IMA. Residents of government hospitals and AYUSH doctors will also be on strike. About one million doctors will not appear in the OPD. This may cause a lot of trouble to the patients. However, emergency wards, maternity and post-mortem, etc., will not be disrupted.

At the same time, there is resentment among doctors across the country after being beaten up by two junior doctors at NRS College in West Bengal. After the nationwide strike on Friday and Saturday, it has now decided not to work on Monday.  Resident doctors of government hospitals have also decided to go on strike in support of IMA by resident doctors of all states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
