Washington: US President Donald Trump has decided that about 12,000 of his soldiers will be withdrawn from Germany. Of these, 6400 soldiers will be stationed in the US, while 6400 soldiers will be transported to other NATO countries such as Italy and Belgium. Trump says that the US has taken this step for Germany's NATO military budget.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded on April 4, 1949, by 12 founding members in Washington, USA. America spends about 70 percent of NATO countries. NATO countries have pledged to spend two percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) on defense by 2024, and Germany is still behind this target. Last month, President Trump said that Germany was not cooperating in spending. After deciding to cut the military force, Trump said at the White House, "We are reducing the number of troops because Germany is not paying its bills." This is very simple. He owes a lot to them.

US defence leaders gave these things on Wednesday while giving information about a plan of the Pentagon. He said that this scheme will cost billions of dollars and it will take many years to complete. This decision has been taken in view of Trump's desire to withdraw troops from Germany. A large number of troops will be sent to Italy and some from Germany to Belgium will go to the US European Command Headquarters and Special Operations Command to Europe.
