New Delhi: As part of the 'Azaadi Ka Amrutkal' theme, national broadcaster Doordarshan is set to soon launch a two-part series titled "Dharohar Bharat Ki"
The series, which airs on April 14 and 15, will highlight India's rich cultural and historical heritage under the current Modi regime , which has placed a special emphasis on preserving India's rich historical and cultural heritage as well as honouring its freedom fighters and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
"To protect every square inch of our nation, our soldiers gave their entire life and every aspect of themselves. In order to motivate future generations, the grandeur and significance of their sacrifice must be brought to life, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments in the documentary.
The Modi government has placed a strong emphasis on exhibiting India's illustrious past over the years. The prime minister's clarion cry has been ingrained in the establishment of memorials honouring our heroes' sacrifice, including the National War Memorial and the Police Memorial.
Some of the most notable actions made to conserve India's cultural and religious legacy include the construction of spiritual landmarks like Ram Janmabhoomi, Somnath Temple, the Mahakal Temple Corridor, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor, and the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.
The documentary will highlight the significant progress India has achieved in recent years towards reviving our sense of national pride and cultural togetherness.
Ascertaining the security and also the sanctity of venerable patriotic sites, like the Jallianwallah Bagh; resuscitating the splendid fervour of our civilizational centres such as Ram Janmabhoomi, Somnath Dham and Kedarnath Dham, Kashi Vishwanath Dham; as per respect to such spiritual sites like the Karatrpur Sahib; celebrating the lives of freedom fighters at inspirational sites such as the Cellular Jail; centre-staging the contribution of Netaji Bose through the grand Netaji statue at India gate canopy; and honouring the legendary contribution of our patriots - past and present - such as the War Memorial are some of the themes that the documentary will present.
The two-part documentary is essentially a visually arresting presentation of India's extensive and dynamic culture, revitalizing, embracing, and in doing so, celebrating our rich and varied inheritance.
