The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for the second phase of the expansion of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district. In the coming time, the Betech intake seats in Nit will be 850, PG seats 300, MTech seats 300 and PhD seats are expected to increase to 300. The dpr form is being prepared in the form of the estimates of the cost of the seats, permanent buildings and other facilities that will be phased out in the next five years. Construction of buildings that are known as One and One-B has almost reached the end of the construction. These works are expected to be completed by February this year. In this context, proposals are being prepared keeping in mind the future needs. The DPR is said to be approved at the central finance ministry meeting in the last week of this month or the first week of February.

The existing facilities have been constructed in the first phase of the AP Nit premises in Tadepalligudem after the state division of the state with a cost of Rs 415 crore. 5 for girls and 7 hostels for boys. There are currently about 2,000 students. AP Nit currently has biotechnology, chemical engineering, civil engineering, CSE, Eee, ECE, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Mechanical Engineering (MME) courses. Of these, there are 480 seats until 2019-20. From this academic year on, the total number of seats has increased to 603, including 120 seats and three seats under the super numerary quota. MTech has six courses, five departments. The number of seats will increase in the coming time

In the next five years, the proposed increase in the seats in Nit is expected to be rs 800 crore and the proposals are being prepared to build buildings. A separate building will be built for each department. The incubation centre, industrial collaboration cell, training and placement cell, centre of excellence for study and research, study in India program will be part of the special hostel, faculty and staff quarters for foreign students who join here. The capacity of 2 MW power substation for power purposes in Nit will be increased to 4.5 MW for future needs. The current solar power plant has proposed to use the remaining 200 kW power to the nit needs without giving it to the grid in the future. The gate will also be set up on the other side of the Nit Campus. As part of pollution prevention, proposals are being made to run electric buses in the campus. The Ministry of New Renewable Energy will be given a subsidy for their purchase.
