Bhopal: Dr Anand Rai, arrested in the Madhya Pradesh Vyapam case, has been suspended by the health department. Action has been taken against Rai under the Civil Services Conduct Rules for serious negligence in his duties and for his criticism on social media of government schemes and policies as a government servant.

Sapna M. Lovanshi, Additional Director, Health Services, the same Directorate issued orders suspending Dr Anand Rai. As per the order, after the suspension of Dr Rai, posted at Hukum Chand Hospital in Indore, the headquarters will remain the Regional Director Health Services, Rewa Division. During the suspension period, Dr Rai will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per rules. The order said that Dr Rai was not present in his office on March 29 due to the inspection of senior officers, while his presence was recorded in the register. At the same time, Rai was present in the office for only 18 days between February 15 and March 15. The rest of the day was also not applied for leave by them.   
 
According to the health department, it was also revealed in the investigation that Dr Rai's short-term leave application on March 29 was submitted to the civil surgeon-cum-chief hospital superintendent Indore. On which he was instructed to appear before the medical board, but Dr Rai did not even appear before the medical board. The order also referred to Rai's social media post dated March 29. In which Rai has written that Mukesh Singh, a state administrative service officer, was sent to civil dispensary radio colony, the place of duty of cm Shivraj Singh Chouhan, especially my wife Dr Gauri Rai. From such a distance, this person examined only two of us out of the 400 doctors working in Indore. If these officers feel that the BJP will remain in power in Madhya Pradesh for a lifetime, then it is a misunderstanding, what will happen to officers like these when the Nizam of the state changes, the rule will change, at least keep your thought alive. Not only this, in the suspension order, it has also been said to make indecent remarks on Rai being run by CM Shivraj Singh, 'Civil Service Promotion Scheme has increased the confidence of the disabled'. Apart from this, Rai has also been described as a criminal for not providing the information of the cases registered in the police stations to the departmental office.
