New Delhi: The first phase of counting votes for the Presidential elections has been completed. The votes of MPs have been counted in this round, with Draupadi Murmu getting a big lead. According to officials involved in the counting, Draupadi Murmu has received 540 votes out of 748. At the same time, the opposition's joint candidate Yashwant Sinha got 208 votes.

At the same time, 15 votes have been found to be invalid during the counting of votes. A total of 748 valid votes have been found, which are valued at 5 lakh 23 thousand 600. Of these, 540 votes went to Draupadi Murmu, valued at 3,78,000. At the same time, Yashwant Sinha seems to be lagging behind by a big margin. He got only 208 votes in total and his value is pegged at 1,45,600. Thus, Yashwant Sinha got less than one-third of the votes. If the same trend continues, then Draupadi Murmu can register a big win.

The General Secretary of the Upper House has given information regarding the first round of counting of votes. He said that right now it is the results of the first round. Now the votes of MLAs in the states will be counted. Several non-NDA parties, including JMM, Shiromani Akali Dal, SBSP, Shiv Sena, TDP, YSR Congress and Biju Janata Dal, had announced their support for Draupadi Murmu. In such a situation, they are also likely to get a big lead in the counting of votes of the MLAs in the next round.
