New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has built a multi-storey building in a record 45 days using in-house technology for the flight control system at the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru. Officials gave information in this regard on Thursday. The seven-storey building will have 'Research and Development' facilities for the Indian Air Force (IAF) to develop fifth-generation, medium-weight, deep-hitting fighter jets. The building will be inaugurated by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday.

An official informed that DRSO completed the construction of a multi-storey infrastructure through hybrid technology for a flight control system at ADE, Bengaluru in a record 45 days. He said the complex will have the facility to develop aeronautics for fighter jets and flight control systems (FCS) under advanced medium combat aircraft (AMCA) projects. India is working on an ambitious AMCA project to develop a fifth-generation medium-weight, deep-hitting fighter jet equipped with advanced stealth facilities with the objective of significantly enhancing its air power capability.

The initial development cost of the AMCA project has been estimated at around Rs 15,000 crore. The Defence Ministry had on Monday informed that the process of obtaining approval of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) headed by PM Narendra Modi for the design and prototype development of the AMCA project has been initiated. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the building on Thursday.
