New Delhi: India on Tuesday successfully test-fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from the Indian Navy's INS Visakhapatnam warship. A DRDO official has said that 'The upgraded sea-to-sea version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired from INS Visakhapatnam today. The missile hit the designated target ship accurately.'
Let us inform you that the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has been prepared by DRDO. The range of this missile was recently increased from 298 km to 450 km. This short-range ramjet, a supersonic cruise missile is the fastest missile in its class in the world. It can be launched from a submarine, ship, aircraft or even from land. It is based on the technology of Russia's P-800 Onkis cruise missile. This missile has been given to the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy.
The BrahMos missile is capable of flying at a maximum speed of Mach 3.5 i.e. 4,300 km per hour. This missile has been completely developed in the country. BrahMos is one such supersonic cruise missile, which is counted among the deadliest missiles of the 21st century. At the same time, enemies cannot even catch the radar of this missile.
