In recognition of Dr Satish Mishra, Principal Scientist, Division of Molecular Parasitology and Immunology, CSIR-CDRI research work on Malaria parasite's life cycle, he was selected for the “Dr.Tulsi Das Chugh Award” for the year 2020 by the Orations & Awards Committee of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India). The National Academy of Medical Sciences (India)  fosters and utilizes academic excellence as its resource to meet medical and social goals is a unique institution in India.

The outstanding work by Dr. Mishra focusing on “Secreted Protein with Altered Thrombospondin Repeat (SPATR) which is Essential for Asexual Blood Stages but not Required for Hepatocyte Invasion by the Malaria Parasite Plasmodium Berghei”.  Various eminent bio-medical scientists in recognition of their outstanding contributions were felicitated by the NAMS institute. Dr.Tulsi Das Chugh Award, carries a Scroll, a Commemorative Medal and Cash Incentive. Award will be given during Annual Conference of the academy during which he gives oral presentation of his work followed by a discussion. 

The prestigious award was honored by The Hyderabad International Airport

Few other awards he bagged includes, elected, member in 2019 and 2018, National Academy of Medical Sciences, India. Bagged Shakuntala Amir Chand Prize in 2018 by Indian Council of Medical Research, Government of India and Ramalingaswami re-entry Fellowship in 2013 by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
