After a lot of probes, finally, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has given a clean chit to all the film personalities involved with the drugs racket. The film personalities were called for an investigation after their contacts were found from the kingpin of Hyderabad drug racket Calvin Mascarenhas who was arrested by the ED earlier.

About 64 people, who were directly or indirectly associated with the Telugu film industry, were interrogated by the SIT. Now, after about two years, all the celebs have been given a clean chit. "At least 62 individuals associated either directly or indirectly with Tollywood were questioned for hours. Strands of hair, nails, etc. of some of them were taken by the authorities for examination. Turns out that every one of them has been given a clean chit. Only those with whom drugs were found have been booked", reads the latest report in India Glitz quoting the RTI.

When the scandal broke out the Telugu film body Movie Artistes' Association (MAA) held a press conference and said that apart from a few members every one in the industry is clean. Director Puri Jagannath and Navadeep claimed innocence in several posts on Twitter.
