Agartala: A government doctor hit a wall with his car near Tripura CM Biplab Deb's residence. The doctor was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. The incident has created a sensation in the area since. The police officer has informed that the accused doctor has been arrested. The car in which the doctor posted at Tripura Medical College was in was not even carrying a number plate. The doctor was driving the car casually around 10.30 pm on Thursday.
He further said that the speeding car also crossed the barricade installed in front of CM residence. The policemen standing near the barricade had to be separated from the road to save their lives. After this, the car hit the wall of MLA Hostel. The police officer told that 'The CM had gone out for a walk at night and was standing nearby there.'
Police said the doctor was immediately arrested and a case of attempt to murder has been registered against him. Beer and wine bottles have been recovered from the car. The accused doctor was produced before the court after the arrest. The court remanded the accused to judicial custody till January 3. A similar incident took place in August this year after which three youths were arrested.
