New Delhi: Delhi University has announced that 6,100 undergraduate seats will be available for the second round of admissions, following the completion of the first round. This update comes after 91.98% of seats, or 65,843 in total, were filled in the initial round.

Candidates can now view the vacant seats on their dashboards and have the opportunity to update their college and course preferences from August 22 to 23. The university plans to commence the academic session on August 29.

In the first round, 65,843 students confirmed their admission to various undergraduate programs at Delhi University, which offers approximately 71,600 seats across its colleges and departments. To maximize seat occupancy, the university had initially allocated 97,387 seats.

Delhi University is managing admissions for 71,600 seats (excluding supernumerary seats) across 69 colleges and departments, with 1,559 program-college combinations available. This year, DU has introduced a new feature on candidates' dashboards to display cutoffs and ranks for seat allocation based on category and quota.

Earlier this month, Delhi University achieved a notable milestone by advancing five places to secure the 6th position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. This accomplishment was credited to the dedicated efforts of the university's faculty, students, and staff. Last year, DU had climbed two spots to reach the 11th position in the university category and improved its overall ranking by seven places to secure the 15th spot.
