DU:Entrance exam only based on objective question for PG courses

New Delhi: the Delhi University, this year are likely to have only objective question (multiple choice questions) for postgraduate courses entrance test for better transparency. The decision taken after recommendations made by an admission committee but the final approval is awaited from the Vice Chancellor.

According to the sources from the university,“There will be no subjective (essay-type) questions in entrance exams for PG subjects from this year” Added, “Some departments used to have both subjective and objective questions.

But as per University Grants Commission guidelines, all entrance exams should have only multiple-choice questions to maintain transparency.” For the first time in DU history, the entrance test may also be held outside Delhi centres such as-Kolkata,Chennai,Jammu,Varanasi,Nagpur and Ahmedabad. “Students can get the details from du.ac.in,” a university official said.

Over 8,000 PG seats will be up for grabs when the admission process start by April 25. Meanwhile, departments reserve 50% seats for direct admission to students who graduated from DU. Official further aforesaid, “In MA courses, 50% seats are reserved for DU graduates. The rest are filled through entrance tests followed by an interview,”
