Dulquer Salmaan in R Balki’s next
Mollywood’s charming star Dulquer Salmaan has signed his third Bollywood film. Dulquer will be collaborating with ace filmmaker R Balki for the upcoming movie. The movie is touted to be a psychological thriller and PC Sreeram will be wielding the lens. Meanwhile, R Balki’s previous movies include ‘Paa’, ‘Ki & Ka’, and ‘Pad Man’ among others.
ONV Award
The ONV literary award was announced this Wednesday. The award is instituted annually by the ONV cultural academy in the memory of late poet ONV Kurup and this year the award was conferred on Tamil poet and lyricist Vairamuthu. Mollywood celebrities including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Geetu Mohandas, Rima Kallingal, and a few others expressed dissent for honouring Vairamuthu with the honourable award as there have been a few #MeToo accusations against the Tamil lyricist. Mollywood celebrities joined the #SaveLakshadweep campaign. The administrative reforms and anti-people policies implemented by present administrator Praful Patel in Lakshadweep had been making headlines this week and many Malayalam celebrities including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nikhila Vimal, Tanvi Ram, filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, and many others took to their respective social media platforms to express their solidarity with #SaveLakshadweep campaign.
CBI 5 in talks
‘Neraiyan CBI’ released in 2005 starring Mammootty will be getting yet another sequel to it. According to the sources, the next film from the CBI franchise will go on floors on August 17. It will be directed by K Madhu and is scripted by S N Swamy, and the rest of the crew is yet to be finalized. Apart from Mammootty and Mukesh, the movie will also have a few other actors including Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Asha Sharath, and Sai Kumar.
