If we talk about respect, it works on the principle of ‘Give and Take’. The more respect you give to someone the more you’ll get back in return. You just cannot disrespect or insult someone and expect that person to be nice to you.
So, if you want someone to respect you, treat you well, reflect the same in your behavior, then show them respect and let them know that you care. It’s not always the younger one who needs to respect the elder one, it’s the responsibility of elder members to behave well and teach others the same.
In every aspect of life, you will only earn respect if you give respect to someone. Especially in relationships, partners need to respect each other in order to keep the relationship healthy going. So the matter of fact is you’ll only get what you put in.
