According to the new study of Geologists data, there is a hidden realm as big as the Indian Subcontinent that is submerged under the Pacific Ocean deserves to be recognized as a new continent ‘Zealandia’

Researchers said that the 4.9 million kilometer region of the southwest Pacific Ocean is made up of continental crust.
Zealandia was born from the breakup of the supercontinent of Gondwana, about 85 million years ago, Mortimer said. At that time, an ocean began to emerge between Australia and New Zealand.

The importance of Zealandia is not so much that there is now a case for a formerly little-known continent, but that, by virtue, thinned and submerged, but not shredded into microcontinents, it is a new and useful continental end member.
