Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Hits Leh, Ladakh: No Casualties Reported.

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Leh in Ladakh on Wednesday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The quake occurred at 8:12 a.m., with the epicenter located at Latitude 36.10 North and Longitude 74.81 East, at a depth of 150 kilometers.

The NCS shared the information on their official social media account, stating, "EQ of M: 4.4, On: 03/07/2024 08:12:59 IST, Lat: 36.10 N, Long: 74.81 E, Depth: 150 Km, Location: Leh, Ladakh."

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are still gathering more information about the impact of the earthquake.

Last month, a smaller earthquake of magnitude 3.2 was recorded in Assam. The epicenter for that quake was located in the Karbi Anglong district at a depth of 25 kilometers, according to the NCS.
