Dehradun: Tremors were felt in several areas of Garhwal and Kumaon in Uttarakhand this morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Gogina in Bageshwar district. A house in Bageshwar has also been damaged due to the earthquake. The magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale has been reported as 4.7. It is being said that the tremors of the earthquake were felt at around 6:30 in the morning. Karnprayag, Srinagar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Nainital districts were felt. Chamoli District Disaster Management Officer Nand Kishore Joshi said that the earthquake tremor was felt at around 6:30 am. There is no information about the loss of life and property from anywhere in the district.

According to the information received, a house in Tehsil Dugnakuri of Bageshwar district has been damaged. Basanti Devi age 42 years, wife Lachhi Ram and Rita age 11 years, daughter Lachhi Ram has suffered minor injuries due to damaged house. She has been admitted to the district hospital. The affected family has been given Rs 3800, two blankets and a disaster relief kit as immediate assistance by the Tehsil administration. The epicenter of the earthquake was the Gogina region of the Bageshwar district. Gogina is situated on the border of the Pithoragarh-Bageshwar district. As soon as the earthquake felt the shock, people got frightened and came out of their homes.
