Railways are also getting success in this. According to the government data, East-Central Railway has earned a record 1588.74 crore profit in the month of August. This figure was Rs 1367.92 crore in the same period last year. That is, the profit has increased by 16.114 percent this year.
In this context, ECR Chief Public Relations Officer Rajesh Kumar said, 'In August 2019, ECR has achieved first position by earning an initial income of Rs.1588.74 crore.' In August, the East Central Railway earned Rs 1331.93 crore from goods loading, Rs 237.26 crore from passenger traffic and Rs 19.55 crore from other sources. In August last year, ECR earned Rs 1134.93 crore from freight and Rs 218.80 crore from passenger traffic. At the same time, South-East Central Railway stood second in this period.
South-East Central Railway has earned a profit of Rs 1522.32 crore. East Coast Railway is at the third position after earning an income of Rs 1517.74. According to the information received from the Right to Information, Railways have earned huge revenue from the passengers who booked Tatkal tickets. The Railways has earned an additional income of Rs. 3,862 crore from premium Tatkal tickets. Let me tell you that Indian Railways is one of the largest railway networks in the world.
