A study conducted by Wake Forest University researchers of some of the top scientific studies, found no link between egg consumption and heart disease. In fact, leading health experts called eggs as the perfect food.

This is because the yolk and white part work together to bring ample serving of essential vitamins, trace minerals, healthy fats and other nutrients, in an all-in-one convenient, low-calorie food.

Improve Eyesight: Eggs are a good source of zeaxanthin and lutein, which help in reducing the degeneration of the cataracts. Just remember to consume the yolk, as this contain the highest concentration of zeaxanthin and lutein.

Note: For a more potent eye-protecting meal, you can mix zeaxanthin and lutein kale or spinach into your omelet.

Improve Your Muscular System: Eggs are one of best food sources, which packages muscle-protecting protein, in a low-calorie food. The B12 in eggs also helps in muscle contraction.

Improve Cholesterol Profile and and do not raise the risk of cardiovascular disease: A large egg contains about 212 mg of cholesterol, which is a lot as compared to other foods. But, just because a food contains cholesterol does not mean that it will increase the bad cholesterol in the blood. Studies have shown that eggs actually improve the cholesterol profile. They raise HDL or the good cholesterol and increase the size of LDL particles, which help lower the risk of heart disease.

Boost Mood: Eggs contain a blend of zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins and iodide nutrients. This work together to fight fatigue and reverse bad moods.

Cancer prevention: According to a study, women who consumed more eggs are 24% less likely to develop breast cancer. This is because consuming one large, full egg and with yolk included, is known to give the body 30% of its recommended choline intake.

Note: Most of the choline is present in the yolk, so include the whole egg in your omelet.

Help in Weight-Loss Plan: The Louisiana State University did a recent and found that individuals who ate egg for breakfast as compared to bagels, lost 65% more weight. Consuming eggs have also been known to reduce calorie intake, later in the day too.
