A day after the EC barred the BJP leader for electioneering for 72 hours; she reportedly visited temples in Bhopal. She also visited a gaushala (cow shelter) in the temple's premises, PTI reported. Pragya Thakur, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Bhopal seat on BJP ticket, was barred from campaigning for 72 hours for her remarks on Babri Masjid demolition and late ATS chief Hemant Karkare.

In a statement, the Election Commission said that Thakur's comments were “provocative and on the religious lines that have the propensity of spreading hatred among various communities which are not confined to the constituency where the statement is made, but also the other parts as well due to fast dissemination of information in the digital age (sic).”

The EC panel “strongly” condemned the remarks and warned the BJP leader to not repeat the “misconduct” in the future. Thakur, who is also Malegaon blast accused had earlier said that ATS chief Karkare was killed in 26-11 Mumbai terror attack due to her curse as he had tortured her while probing the Malegaon blast case. The BJP leader had also sparked a row after she said that she helped raze Babri Masjid in 1992 and that she was “proud” of participating in its demolition.
