There are two words dominating the fashion world now - journey and sustainable. While everyone is extremely busy crafting their own stylish journey, the world is conveniently tilting towards sustainability for good and it's about time. Of course, everyone wants to look good, make a statement but it's super important to find a way to preserve the environment. The bridge between the two has finally reduced and every fashionista across the globe is now obsessed.Â
And we owe it to our social media influencers who have been going that extra mile to ensure that they use reusable, recycle fashion and inspire their millions of followers too. Sejal Jain has been doing her bit evidently and so stylishly. Â
Take a look at her Instagram page and you’ll see that she’s not just flaunted her sustainable collection, but also shared various reels on how to reuse clothes, jewellery, use her creativity and engage her audience in loads of DIYs and so on.
“It’s a two way street. We need to give something to the environment so that it can take care of us. And it’s not fashion if it’s coming from harming something or someone else. I realised this very early and that’s the kind of fashion I am emphasizing on. There’s this common misconception that sustainable clothes aren’t fashionable, but that's a misconception. Infact it can be more artsy, bold and theme based" adds Sejal.Â
She has been associated for long with brands like Liva, Diwaah, Gulaal creations, Rejuvenate jewels, Needlebar, Moha, Tiaan, Lotus Herbals just to name a few and various other designer labels and skin care brands which are home grown following ethical, slow fashion and cruelty free practices.
She also goes on to share a few essential tips on how you can reuse, recycle and repurpose your own wardrobe. Check them out here:Â
- Opt for a fabric that will sit well in every season like linen or soft cotton.Â
- Say no to products including makeup that is made from animal skin.Â
- Say no to makeup products that are tested on animals.Â
