New Delhi:  The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant steps in the Mahadev online betting app case, filing its first chargesheet. This move has seen the naming of 14 individuals as accused, including Sourabh Chandrakar, the promoter of the Mahadev betting app, and his associate Ravi Uppal. In the chargesheet submitted at a special PMLA court in Raipur, the ED has detailed provisional attachments of ₹41 crore as proceeds of crime, with the total amount potentially exceeding ₹6,000 crore.

The 14 accused in the case, include Sourabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, Vikas Chapariya, Chandrabhushan Verma, Satish Chandrakar (Sourabh Chandrakar's brother), Anil Dammani, Sunil Dammani, Vishal Ahuja, Dheeraj Ahuja, Punaram Verma, Shiv Kumar Verma, Yashoda Verma, and Pawan Nathani. ED's first chargesheet is a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

Previously, celebrities such as actor Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Hina Khan had been summoned by the central agency in connection with the promotion of the Mahadev betting app. Comedian Kapil Sharma was also summoned to attend the opulent success party of the Mahadev betting app in Dubai.

ED's allegations against the Mahadev online book app revolve around its operation through the franchising of "Panel/Branches" to known associates, with a 70-30 profit-sharing arrangement. The app was purportedly used to onboard new users, create IDs, and engage in money laundering through a complex network of benami bank accounts. This app offers online casino and betting platforms, activities that are either illegal in India or subject to strict government supervision.

Sourabh Chandrakar, who previously worked as a juice vendor, and his associate Ravi Uppal are the founders of this application and currently reside in Dubai. A recent high-profile wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar in Dubai attracted attention for its extravagant spending, including private jet transportation for family members from India and the presence of celebrities like Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, and Vishal Dadlani.

These developments in the Mahadev online betting app case illustrate the ED's determination to investigate and take action against those involved in this illegal betting operation, including notable personalities connected to the app.
