Kolkata: In the case of cow smuggling in West Bengal, the CBI has arrested Trinamool Congress's strongman Anubrata Mondal. Now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also entered in this case. The ED has already registered a case in the case of cow smuggling. ED has already arrested one of the accused in this case, Inamul Haque. Now the central agency is in the process of taking Anubrata Mandal into custody in that case.

Actually, CBI has arrested Anubrata Mandal and his bodyguard Sehgal Hussain. However, according to sources, the ED Headquarters in Delhi is in touch with the CBI. There are speculations that the ED may increase its activism in this matter. Explain that the ED mainly investigates cases related to economic transactions. Sources said that the ED has asked whether the CBI has found any evidence related to economic transactions in the case of Anubrata Mandal. ED officials have spoken to the CBI team in this regard.

According to sources, the ED will apply for custody if there is any evidence related to the economic transaction. So far no application has been filed in court. Let us tell you that ED registered a case related to cow smuggling in Delhi in 2020. So Anubrata can be taken to Delhi to be taken into the custody of that agency. As per the rules, if the ED wants to take custody, it has to first inform the judge of the CBI court. Since the matter is in Delhi, the ED will have to take permission from the court there and if permission is granted, the relevant documents will have to be submitted to the CBI court. Then Anubrata Mandal can be arrested and taken to Delhi.
