New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again started the process of raiding in Delhi's much-talked-about liquor scam. Apart from Delhi, ED printing is going on at 35 locations in Hyderabad, and Punjab. In this case, CBI and ED have raided in the past, including searches at the residence and bank locker of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Vijay Nair and Sameer Mahendru have been arrested in connection with the liquor scam case.
Sources have said that the ED has also got clues about the links of Delhi's liquor scam to Andhra Pradesh and Punjab. Therefore, now efforts are being made to find evidence by raiding those places too. Sameer Mahendru's interrogation is also said to have yielded many important information. It is being told that the raids are being conducted on the premises of some people associated with politics, liquor traders and former officials.
Let us know that on the recommendation of Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena, the CBI registered a case in connection with the scam under the liquor policy in Delhi. Later, the ED also started an inquiry in this regard. The investigating agencies have named Deputy CM Manish Sisodia as the main accused in this case. The CBI has also raided Sisodia's house and searched his bank locker.
Let me tell you that the Kejriwal government had brought this new liquor policy, which the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was praising a lot. But when there were allegations of scams under this policy and LG ordered an inquiry, suddenly the Kejriwal government made a U-turn and implemented the old liquor policy back. However, why did the Delhi government come on the back foot and withdraw the policy? There was no response. After this, the discussion started going on in the political corridors that the Kejriwal government has definitely done a scam under the liquor policy, otherwise it would not have withdrawn the policy for fear of investigation. However, the investigation is currently going on in this case and two AAP leaders have also been arrested.
