Modi gave Gurumantra to IAS officers, says spend more time on field

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday interacted with the IAS officers of the 2020 batch. PM Modi has advised them to spend more time on the field instead of relying only on digital motors while working in the districts. Along with this, he has requested the officers to do such work at their place of posting, so that people always remember them.

Prime Minister Modi told the officials that when India celebrates its 100th year of independence, they would have become the head and secretary of various departments. Keeping this in mind, he has instructed to understand the problems of the citizens. According to media reports, sources told the young officers that as administrators, they should be more and more connected to the citizens. At Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, PM Modi was addressing 175 officers who have worked as assistant secretaries with 63 ministries and departments for three months. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), 'PM Modi said that the officers have got an opportunity to serve the country during Amrit Kaal and help in the realization of Pancha Prana.' 

PM Modi has said that the officers have an important role in ensuring the achievement of the goal of a developed India in the 'Amrit Kaal'. He highlighted the importance of thinking out of the box and adopting a holistic approach in one's endeavours. He cited the example of Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti Master Plan to demonstrate the importance of such a holistic approach. During the address PM Modi stressed on the importance of serving the nation to the officers, PM Modi spoke about the importance of performing their duties. He said that the mindset of 'Rajpath' has now been transformed into the spirit of the 'Kartavya Path'.
