Mumbai: A new war has begun in Maharashtra's politics. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is interrogating the NCP leader and minister in the Uddhav Thackeray government, Nawab Malik. On Wednesday morning, Enforcement Directorate officials reached Nawab Malik's bungalow and took him with them for questioning. It is alleged that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar has named Nawab Malik in a property deal case. Nawab Malik is now being questioned in the incident.

Meanwhile, both the Shiv Sena and the NCP have started giving it a political colour. NCP chief Sharad Pawar said the central government is misusing the investigating agencies. He said- "Nawab Malik is a senior leader and a cabinet minister of Maharashtra. The way the Enforcement Directorate took him away from his home is a challenge for the Maharashtra government. A minister is taken to our state by the central agencies. After 2024, you (BJP leaders sitting at the Centre) will also be investigated. Take care of this.''

Supriya Sule, the same NCP MP and daughter of Sharad Pawar, said, "For several days, BJP people had been tweeting that there will be a notice of the Enforcement Directorate against Nawab Malik and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Nawab Malik has been taken directly to the Enforcement Directorate office without any notice. I don't know what new politics they started. This is an insult to Maharashtra.'' Similarly, Jayant Patil, a minister in the Maharashtra government and NCP leader, said, "Without prior knowledge, Nawab Malik has been taken to the Enforcement Directorate office to ask questions. He had exposed BJP leaders in the last few days, so now revenge is being taken.''
